Light Leak 645DF

Postby Miles2 » Thu Aug 21, 2014 11:29 am

I recall that it is known that the 645DF has a small light leak when using it with Little Stopper and Big Stopper filters. This shows as a red smear at one corner of the image. Someone from Phase One told me that it is best to wrap the body in a dark cloth or something similar to prevent this. And indeed this works though it is a bit clumsy.

My question is whether there are any parts of the body which could be covered by gaffer tape to stop the problem. I seem to recall that the IR illuminator is one suspect.

It only happens with long exposures but can anyone suggest other simple ways to solve this ?

Many thanks.

Hi

This can be fixed at service centre by doing a few internal modifications.
Contact your local Phase One reseller in order to arrange the body to be serviced.

Thanks Ulf. Didn't realise there is a fix.

Best wishes
