.MOS files not recognized in Leaf or Capture

Hi. I'm having trouble opening some .mos files I found on an old drive. The drive was not mounting correctly, and I used Disk Drill to recover the files/ copy to a new location. They appear to be the appropriate size for this file type. I'm aware of the compression issue and assumed that maybe I needed to use Leaf converter to open these files in Photoshop or another program. Is it likely the files have been damaged? Are there any other known compatibility issues / changes in OSX/Capture/Leaf that would render these files unreadable by current software? It seems that some files on the disk, in older folders as well, are readable. It is not random; either all in a particular folder are readable or not readable. I'm guessing they were captured differently perhaps. I've tried Leaf Capture, Leaf Converter, Capture One, Adobe DNG Converter, Photoshop, Raw Therapee, Lightroom (all the latest versions). I am working in OSX 10.7.5. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Are these compressed or uncompressed?
I would suggest you just put one in a support case and let us have a look.
