How to reset 645DF body?

Postby Michael » Wed Feb 01, 2012 2:05 pm

Good day! I have a problem with rear dial ring and I want to reset my PhaseOne 645DF to factory settings. Resetting using back doesn't take any effect.

What should I do to reset camera body? Is there any key combination or maybe a small battery like in Nikon D2?

Custom functions can be reset by going to CF on the dial and holding down +/-. As for the dial problem please have the firmware updated to 1.25.

Thank you very much. I've updated firmware to 1.25 (CF 99 is showing it), but it didn't take any effect. My diler center can not help me right now only several weeks later. Can I do anything else during waiting?

Resetting by holding +/- got nothing only a short beep :-)

I'm having the same problem and have gone through the same steps with no result. Any suggestions?

I had the same problem.

Rear dial would become unresponsive.

Here is how I could get it going again.

Remove back and lens.

Remove battery for 30 sec. (30 seconds may be more than necessary)

Replace battery.

Reset holding the +/- buttons to reset (not really sure if I needed this step.

Put the back on first.

Turn the camera on and off.

Put the lens back on.

Worked for me. I think that it may have had something to do with taking the camera into
parked mirror mode with nothing else on the camera.

I ended up selling the camera as this happened one to many times on set in front of clients.
Not fun either to take the camera apart on location in the woods ....

Different buyers bought the back, body and lenses. They did not have the same problem.
This leads me to think that there are issues that only show up with a given combination of
lens copy, body copy and back copy. Possible slightly buggy back, slightly buggy lens, slightly buggy
body or some partial combination of this. Each no problem on their own, but a problem when used together.
This also makes it hard to troubleshoot.

(My back was always flawless on a non Mamiya or Phase One body.)
