Constantly experiencing Out of Memory errors on iMac

I am experiencing Out of Memory errors within a few minutes of using Capture One 12 (Fuji Only edition). I have a 3 year old iMac. It only has 16GB of RAM but still I can't see why this should be an issue for my modest workflow. Stated system requirements are 8GB.

I just now opened a small catalog with only a few hundred photos in it and imported about 20 photos and by the time this finished, Capture One was using 6GB of RAM I was getting the memory error.

I've used Lightroom for 8 years prior to this never experienced this even when it left running for days. In fact, I've never seen this memory error in my decades of Mac use nor seen it with any other application on this machine.

I don't think this occurred with Capture One 11 either which I used for about a month before upgrading.

I'm curious if anyone else has encountered this. I don't see many complaints here or elsewhere so I'm puzzled.

How much space is free on your hard drive?

I've seen this in Capture One 8 or 9 but not since. And then only with a catalog of 15000 images.

I reccomend that you create a support ticket.
