How to see only the cropped version in thumbnail/grid view?

Hi,

I don't know what Capture1 calls what is the "grid view" LR - but it's the thumbnail display. I'm really struggling getting used to this. (and what IS it called, btw?)

It seems to display the original image with any crops overlaid on it and the rest of the frame shaded out.

I find this incredibly distracting. I would like to see the thumbnail of the image as it has been cropped, i.e. the final version. Is there any way of making it do that? I actively dislike the shading over the cropped area. I can't tell at a glance how the images all fit together.

TIA!

It's called the browser. And you can't disable this "overlaid crop" view.

Ah, thank you.

Hmm... that's very disappointing. That may be a deal-breaker for me. :( (I'm still trialing the software)

What do you mean by

"I can't tell at a glance how the images all fit together."?

What are you looking for with the "fit together" part of the comment?

As an alternative to the Browser thumbnail view use the Viewer display.

Select the images you want see at the same time by using the browser.

In the Viewer window enable the option to view multiple images.

The viewer will display the images in the fully cropped mode (unless you have the Crop tool selected at the time.)

You can group up to 9 images and zoom them individually or as a group should you so wish.
