White Slider!!!

Postby NNN637054890393169682 » Tue Oct 01, 2019 12:38 am

Hi all,
I want to pull up on the whites only (emulate the white slider in other programs) and I can get there using Levels, but it's not simple.

Does anyone know of a simle way to emulate a white slider in Capture One.

Thanks

I mainly use Capture One, but I have just tried using the whites slider in ON1 Photo RAW 2019 versus using the right hand lower control in the Capture One Levels tool. I can't see much difference in the ease of use or in the effect it has on the image in either case. What did you have in mind?

I think you nailed it with the levels. The black and white points are set with levels in C1 rather than sliders in LR. For a quick method, hit the AutoLevels button for a starting point.

The first two methods will work in any version of Capture One, but the last one will ... This simple method will allow you to compensate for images which have flat blacks or have raised black levels. .... T-Pan For Capture One: Black and White Film Styles ... both the highlights and whites slider in Lr are relative adjustments, meaning that neither of them are predictable and will make adjustments based on context.

as others have mentioned, both curves and levels are the C1 equivalent.
