You'll need a PC to digital back cable. This goes from your lens to the back to communicate when a photo is being taken. And you will need to find what type of mount is on the digital back, ask you friend what camera he used it with (Mamiya, Hasselblad V/H) And then find a compatible adapter plate EX:

Hasselblad (if the Linhof has Graflok releases for the ground glass): http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1 ... apter.html

Cable: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1 ... cable.html

You may have to preform something called a "two-shot". You will cock the shutter and trigger the shutter and then cock and fire the shutter again within 2 seconds. The first shot tells the back that you're about to take a photo and the second shot is the one that creates the image... Now you might not have to do this because Leaf backs don't use sleeping architecture, but it's something to be aware of.
