Why does my Credo 40 back turn on when a battery is inserted? I hate this because I have to wait for it to power up then remember to turn it off. Is this a setting that I'm overlooking or is this just the way it is?

This is by design. Consider it a failsafe if the power button were to fail. You can also turn off the back by removing the battery without concern of damaging the back.
