credo live view over USB?

Postby gebseng2 » Wed Dec 11, 2013 12:09 am

hi everyone,

are there any ideas when tethered live view will support USB and not only firewire? obviously, this would be tremendously useful in connection with windows tablets.

best,

Please reference;

Keep in mind that for Live View to work on a tablet, you need a tablet that can run Capture One software. Until that happens the live view feature via USB is irrelevant.

Hi Drew, thanks for your swift reply!

Sure, I'm aware if that. Yesterday I did a test with a surface pro running windows 8.1 and a IQ 140 and a credo 40 also. Both backs had the latest firmware, and c1 7.1.5 was running smoothly on the surface. Tethered shooting worked fine over USB 3.0, and for me as an architectural photographer, this is a great way to review images on location. So, if live preview also worked with one of this backs, this would be a strong incentive for me.
So, are there any plans to enable that?

Gesbeng1,
As mentioned, you should reference that other thread... the thread states:

The "yet" should answer your question :wink:

Are you seriously suggesting that LiveView connectivity through USB3 which was specified when the current Credo backs were released in 2010(?) will be available before the backs become obsolete?

The IQ series has recently received a firmware update to allow LiveView over USB3. I'd expect a similar update for Credo reasonably soon - though couldn't say when.

(The Credo was released in 2012, not 2010)
