Charge via USB

My Credo 40 doesn't seem to charge via USB3. I installed the latest firmware (2.02) on the back. Has anyone else been successful charging via USB?

Thanks in advance.

Delane,
A bit of a misconception from the term "charging". The feature should specifically read as below;

Maintenance charging on Credo over USB3 and USB2 (extends battery life when tethered)

The issue is that a standard computer USB port provides some power but not enough to charge the 12v Battery. Enough to extend the life but it's simply putting in less than the back takes. Like filling a bucket with a hole, where the hole let's out more water than the tap puts in.

Ok. It's definitely worded wrong then and a bit misleading.

Is it the same for FireWire or is that a real charge?

Thanks in advance.

Using the same "hole in the bucket" analogy... with Firewire, the tap puts out more water than the hole in the bucket drains, so with Firewire it can charge the battery and keep it charged.

In defense of the wording in the release notes, if you were to leave the back plugged into the USB when it's not in use it would indeed charge but when you're working with the back it just uses more power than the USB can provide. If USB provided more juice, like firewire does, it wouldn't be an issue.
