I've been a user for over a decade, first as iView Media Pro (or some earlier version), then it was bought by Microsoft and changed brands but continued, then spun off to Phase One. Each time I about had a coronary. Our workflow is so tied to this app. for what it does so well, not just cataloging images, but renaming files, scripting lines into meta data (like captions), generating PDF catalogs, and so much more. I would very much like to know if there are other apps out there working on MacOS which do the same things without a lot of bloating. Or, is there any hope that Media Pro will be once again absorbed or spun off and kept alive?

32-bit apps will still run on macOS 10.14.

Thank you. I wasn't aware of this. 10.14 is apparently the last Mac OS that will run them. 32 bit apps to be discontinued in 2019.

Yes, 10.14 (Mojave) is the last Mac OS that will run 32-bit apps and (presumably) Media Pro. I say "presumably" because Media Pro is not officially supported on Mojave; the last officially supported OS is High Sierra 10.13.3. But even if it works on Mojave, your Mac must be new enough to run 10.14. My 8-year old mid-2010 Mac Pro will not run 10.14. Even if my Mac Pro lives forever, if I want to keep current with Mac security updates I'll have to replace it in 2020 when High Sierra support ends. On the new Mac I'll have to use a High Sierra partition to run Media Pro. This will mean I'll have to routinely switch partitions (day-to-day partition <-> photography partition) throughout the day -- not exactly an ideal situation.
