There have been times were new feature loaded firmware popped up quarterly - for the XF and the IQ3.
But now for the IQ4 - that was sold to us for its endless possibilities and future features, combined with unequaled computing power - there is not much going on except of getting slowly rid of bugs ( Well, yes, exposure bracketing. Ok - honestly, who is making use of it on a daily base ? ).
We still wait for the promised bracketing feature for large format cameras - that is still advertised on the IQ4s website - but is not implemented yet. Power sharing between the IQ4 and the XF is - well - questionable. The auto-charging via USB-C tethering that can´t be switched of is annoying.
The IQ3 was a bulletproof day-by-day workhorse - the IQ4 is a fiddly beast with hickups, still not performing flawless.
Can the owners of the IQ4 system see firmware that expands the usability of the back this year ? Or do we have to face the fact that the IQ4 is the pinnacle - and end of digital backs ?
Worried - Steffen
