Postby NNN634315077420836337 » Sun Jun 01, 2008 9:11 am

Hi all,
i have a H5 back and want to use it on my G5 dual 2,3 using OSX 10.4.11.
i only have capture Basic software to install. While installing i get a message that there must be a system folder installed, but when i continue installation it says \" installation was succesfull\". So far so good. But when i try to start up the H5 back i constantly get the message: could not complete your request because the camera did not deliver a full capture. please check your IEEE1394 cables and connectors. error:-7111.
Can annyone plese help me. Thanks in advance.

Its a while since I've seen one of these! Off the top of my head error codes starting -71 are usually communication/power issues due to intermittent bus power supply. Are you using the front FW port on the G5 or the back one? If the lights on the back are anything other than solid green this would be a good indicator that this is the problem. You may need a power conditioner kit, but this is unusual for this computer.

... and by Capture basic do you mean DB/4.1? LE wont work full stop...

WOW V1.0!

If you own a Digitial Back, you are entitled to a copy of DB software to run it. Speak to your dealer or Phase support to get a key for 4.1 or 3.7.8.

Do that first!

I don't think they will do that. I bought it used and it was already a copy of the original CD. Maybe it will run better on a mac G4 with OS 9.2.2
I will try that and let you know. But that will not solve the error message i think.
Best regards.

I work for a Phase dealer. There is no reason why they/we wouldn't if we had a customer in the UK in a similar situation. (The only reason we wouldn't is if it was stolen.... ) although you will have to use a Belgian dealer or Phase support.

You will find they are more than helpful if you are using their product regardless of where you bought it.
