Leaf Aptus 65 tethering on a Macbook pro 2017

Had to update my computer to new one and realized that it would be difficulties with connection of this two devices. I read that I can use Apple Thunderbolt 3.0 to Thunderbolt 2.0 and Thunderbolt 2.0 to FireWire 800 and FireWire800 to FireWire 400 and this seems the only way... But will it work?

Any experience with such situation? Thanks A LOT for ANY information.

I can confirm that the solution you describe does not work for any firewire based camera back from Leaf or Phase One.

The only and best solution so far is the use of a OWC dock.

This has a firewire 800 port which you can connect with a firewire 800 -> 400 cables

Hi there,

I have exactly this combination of a new MacBookPro and a OWC doc. Thethered with 800->400 cable and using the FireWire800 connection. Unfortunately CaptureOne Pro does not see the camera.

The system can see the camera and gives all the right info. But Capture One just wouldn't.
