Known issue: drag and drop fails

Postby NN122823UL2 » Sat Sep 18, 2010 4:55 pm

Known issue: drag and drop in many applications fails, including to Powerpoint and Office 2008 and 2011.

See here, Redmond acknowledges it as a known issue.

Many academics and professional presentation deliverers use iView to put together presentations. It's a shame this isn't supported anymore.

Hello NN122823UL (name?),

I just draged and dropped a pptx, xlsx and docx without any problems.
The pptx even shows a preview of the content!
So, whats the issue here? (your link is not working any more).

I just tried again. How does this work for you? Please be specific in your reply. What version of Powerpoint are you using? What version of Expression Media are you using? What version of Mac OS?

I tried with all kind of applications and they all work. Here are a view examples:

1st: Win7 64bit (dutch) + EM2 (with SP2 , version 2.0.2096.0) + Office 2007 dutch (I tried Word, Excel and Powerpoint files in their native format: docx, xlsx and pptx).

2nd: Win7 32bit (eng) + EM2 (with SP2 , version 2.0.2096.0) + Office 2010 eng(I tried Word, Excel and Powerpoint files in their native format: docx, xlsx and pptx).

Could it be an apple issue?

I only use Macs, I wouldn't have any idea about how it works in Windows.
