Schneider LS lens on Phase One 645 DF+

Most of my work is in the studio, using my p45+ back on a Sinar view camera for product work. I also use my Phase One 645DF+ for landscapes and people in a controlled lighting environment, and so haven't needed the fast shutter synch of the LS lenses...until now.

I'll be renting a 35mm LS lens for an interior shoot, and I'm wondering how to switch between the leaf shutter and the focal plane shutter. Does the camera automatically use the leaf shutter up to certain speeds, like 1/1600 sec? Is there a custom function on the camera to switch between the two? I assume there's no advantage to ever use the focal plane shutter when the leaf shutter is available, correct?

Thanks for your input!

There is a setting in the camera that will prefer the leaf shutter. I think it’s the default. If you look at the camera quick reference card or manual it’s in there. Aside from wear issues, the only advantage to the focal plane shutter is the cycle time is a bit faster, but that’s not really a factor most of the time.
