remote control for 645DF+

Postby NN109526UL2 » Mon May 04, 2015 8:32 am

I want to be able to repeatedly trigger my manually controlled, tripod-mounted, IQ180/645DF+ camera system, from 100-300 feet away, from the tripod and sand bagged rig. I need many multiple exposures of custom lit and remotely flashed architectural scenes. Each exposure would be set to the best exposure settings possible and the combined exposures will be merged in photo shop... similar to Mike Kellys' dusk exposures. What does Mamiya make for the 645DF+ or what is available from PhaseOne?

HI

One option is of course to upgrade to a IQ280 which have built in WiFI and allow you to control and trigger the camera from an iOS device.
This is of course the more expensive option. :-)

The other option is to have a computer linked to your camera and connect it over optical USB

This way you can control and trigger from the computer.

If you just need to trigger the camera, then you can use a Phase One 645 motor cable from either Profoto or Pocket wizard.
(which ever one you might have) and hook the transceiver to work a a remote trigger.

Thank you. I'll try the remote motor cable. I don't want to lug a computer with me on the shoots, having to set it up with every move or location change.
