Pros / Cons Do I upgrade???

Postby rsirota » Sat Apr 19, 2014 6:31 pm

Hello all,

I currently have a PhaseOne 645AF with a P40+ back and am wondering if I should upgrade to the 645DF+? Can you guys chime in and let me know if I should and any pros/cons? I will keep the P40+ back just updating the body.

Thanks
Rob

Not sure what you're looking for?
The DF+ is a current supported camera platform with more features and many improvements over the AF.
The only Con I can think of is cost, as a new camera body carries new camera costs.

Are the features worth the upgrade? Can you list out some of the benefits going to the DF+ from the AF?

DF+ would provide:
- compatibility with the very good line of Schneider LS lenses. With the images I see on your website I think you'd especially enjoy the 110LS.
- much faster AF
- much more consistent AF which hunts less and jitters less
- compatibility with the Vertical Grip which has a built in Profoto Air transmitter and a nice release for vertical shooting
- better durability (the things that broke on the AF, got ruggedized for the DF, the things that broke still on the DF got ruggedized again on the DF+)

You could continue to use the AF body as a backup.

Contact me directly (dep@digitaltransitions.com) and we can arrange a way for you to try a body before you decide to purchase.
