Aperture setting wheel on camera sometimes doesn't work

Postby NN268140UL » Mon Mar 19, 2012 2:42 pm

Sometimes I experience that the aperture setting wheel on my 645DF doesn't work. I turn the wheel but the aperture remains the same, the number doesn't change. Then I use the wheel on the V-Grip and it works again. After using the wheel on the V-Grip, it also works on the camera again.

Am I doing something wrong? Is it a software problem?

Likely just a loose fitting between the V-Grip and the Camera Body.
When you purchased your V-Grip it was provided with a Thread Adaptor that ensures a proper fit between the two components (Body and Grip). If you use something different there is a chance it does not seat properly or allows for a gap between Camera and V-Grip which understandably could interfere with proper connection/communication.

Thanks a lot, Drew. I don't know what you mean by "Thread Adaptor" and that I use something different. I am just plugging the V-Grip into the camera and turn the wheel as tight as possible. The V-Grip fits ok. Last time I met my dealer he said, the fit is ok.

It's not a big issue. Maybe this problem gets fixed with a future firmware version.

Thanks!

It could be that when you turn one of the dials on the grip it somehow stays half way so the body's dials are disabled. make sure that the dials on the grim are "in position"
