Compact flash card formatting P25 vs. IQ180

Postby NN109526UL2 » Wed Jan 18, 2012 1:24 am

I rented the M645DF/IQ180 from Samy's. I formatted their supplied 32GB CFC in the 180 Back. I brought my own 4GB SanDisk Extreme IV and SanDisk Ultra II 2GB cards, which had been previously formatted by my P25 Back. In the urgency and speed of the shoot, I forgot to format all of my 4GB and 2GB cards in the 180 Back. They looked OK on the "Jumbotron" screen, on the back of the IQ180. I am just now importing them into Win 7/PO6. Is there any known issue with the lack of proper pre-formatting the CFC's in the IQ180 system?

There should not be any issue. The backs both format the cards the same and partition them as "MBR".

Cool. That's a relief. Hope I don't "learn" how to use the 180, one little mistake at a time. I am so used to shooting with the P25/Hassy setup that it had become second nature to just start banging away. Ooops. Time to go through the mental checklist before I jump into the helicopter!

Thanks,
Paul
