Shooting tethered, keybord capture w/Mirror Up, not possible

Postby Sveinung1 » Tue Dec 20, 2011 1:31 pm

Hi,
I have tried shooting with mirror up set at the camera and releasing from the keyboard of my Mac.
This is unfortunately not possible.
This is a function which I would really appreciate on longer exposures.
Now I have to push the release button twice, which easily can give motion of the camera during exposure.
I have tested the camera on a stable Manfrotto tripod and experience motion blur using the Mirror Up with the 110mm on longer exposures.
Another feature I would like to see is when I use self timer the mirror flips up when the button is pressed, then it is only the shutter that "moves" during exposure.
i.e as little motion of the camera as possible during exposure.

Will theese features be implemented in some firmware-update soon?

Best

Sveinung,
Does the Timer Delay meet your criteria?
You can use Mirror Up with a Delay and then the camera should fire once from the software and the mirror will go up, there will then be a delay that you have designated and upon completion of the timing sequence the shutter only will fire.

Thank you for your replay.
I will try this as soon as possible.
(And read the instruction manual more thoroughly before next post... )
