Mirror lock up during travel.

Postby NNN634239244038662771 » Fri Dec 16, 2011 7:01 pm

All:

I am taking a trip next week and taking my new Mamiya 645DF with me.

Question. While traveling, should I lock up my mirror. I will be carrying the camera with me on the plane etc. If I need to lock up the mirror for travel, How do I do so?

Please let me know.

Thx.

...just so you have a reply, I've never heard of this being necessary. I think if it were, they would ship from the factory with mirror locked.....IMHO, I'd rather have dust on the mirror than the sensor.

If you remove the back from the body the mirror retracts into the M-lock up position. This is how they are shipped from factory.

Ok thx guys.

When I received my camera the back was attached to the camera and the mirror was locked up. None of the covers were on the back or the body. I was curious how they got it to lock up with the back attached.

I will disconnect the back put the covers on. I don't want to hurt my camera!!

Curtis,
Once you take the system apart and remove all the batteries, you can put it back together and the mirror will remain locked in the UP position.
