Leaf Capture LC11.5.1 32 Bit on Mac El Capitan

Postby NNN635180513470788572 » Fri Oct 02, 2015 4:23 am

I have done a quick check of LC-11.5.1 32 bit Capture using Mac OS X El Capitan 10.11.1 beta. I had some difficulty using a Mac Book Pro (Retina 15 inch, mid 2014), but it worked fine after I re-installed Capture. I also tested it with a Mac Book Air, with the same operating system, with no problems. The tethering was done with a Thunderbolt to Firewire 800 adapter from Apple, and a FW800 to FW400 cable. The digital back was a Leaf Valeo 22Wi.

I am having the problem that I can not install LC 11.5.1. 32 bit on my Mac OS X El Capitan devices.
I get two error messages:
Error creating file. 1008:5,-5000 Acces denied error
After that I get the next error message:
You do not have enough access privileges for this installation.

This though I made the installtion as an administrator with all install.privileges.

LC 11.5.1 is running fine on my Mac mini with OS 10.10. Yosemite.

Any ideas what to do?

If I can help, Leaf capture doesn't work on el capitan

The best way is to install on older version like maverick that works fine. You can do that for free in an Apple store

I'm currently running LC11.5.1 32bit on my Macbook Pro using El Capitan.
The 5000 error is definitely a permissions issue and a Mac OS error
being reported by Leaf Capture.
fileVault must be disabled. Go to System Preferences, Security, and
turn off FileVault. If you are still having problems try the
following.

Try adjusting the permissions of all mounted non boot hard drives to
solve the problem.

To do this, select each volume and choose Get Info from the File
Menu. Then make sure that the Ownership & Permissions settings are
set in this manner:

Owner: xxxx (Me)
Access: Read & Write

Group: admin
Access: Read & Write

Others: Read & Write

Also make sure "Ignore ownership on this volume" is deselected.

You should also run repair disk permission on the system drive. If
you continue to have problems you should uninstall LC11.5.1, create
a new user account with admin privileges, and install LC11.5.1 into
this account.
I hope this helps.

I am having the exact same problem with trying to get Leaf Capture 11.5.3 to work with El Capitan. Error messages and permission problems.

Error creating file. 1008:5,-5000 Acces denied error
followed by

You do not have enough access privileges for this installation.

Anyone know of a work around?

Solved !

It's due to the SIP (System integrity protection) of El Capitan and Sierra.
It protects the Application directory to be modify.
So the Application directory is read-only and rootless

To resolve it.
- First, enable your root user on your mac
- Enter in recovery mode (Cmd -R at bootup)
- In the menu, choose the Command line util
- Type in :
Code: Select all
csrutil disable

- reboot and login normally
- Open a command line
- Type in:
Code: Select all
cd /
sudo chmod +w Applications
sudo chown root:wheel Applications

Then install Leaf capture

You should restore the SIP
Do the same procedure as beginning
but with the command :
Code: Select all
csrutil enable

Hi ,
Three days I try and try again. Nothing happens. When I get to the Utilities folder, go into Terminal, then I type "csrutil disable" etc. etc.
but nothing happens. Can I have, please, a more detailed explanation? Maybe I jump a few steps ...
Best Regards Roger

You need to boot in recovery mode.
