Tethering p65+ and MacBookPro

Postby pino » Mon Sep 14, 2015 6:33 am

My P65+ was sent to me by PhaseOne already with a cable Firewire/Thunderbolt .
When I connect the back to the MacBook Pro directly to the Thunderbolt port, in addition to using the Mac with the power supply to 220V, I also need a RepetearHub or not?
I thought I read that it is necessary when using the adapter Firewire / Thunderbolt, but connecting the back directly on the thunder port, is it necessary?
Thank you

To be honest I did not know such a cable existed, let alone it was delivered from Phase One. (I just had my POCP re-training last week, so I should now, shouldn't I?)

For the time being I would treat this cable as a Firewire/Thunderbolt adapter combo meaning no or limited power from computer to back. Make the back run on battery mode. If connection is unstable, use repeater anyway. Do not perform firmware update with this cable unless Phase One says explicitly otherwise.

:D :D
yes, of course… the cable for connecting the back with the laptop. It is a thunderbolt direct, so no adapter is needed…
I'll make a test. If connection is unstable, i will use a repeater.
Thank you Paul.

Hi

I think you missed the part where Paul said
Make the back run on battery mode.

It is described here:

SORRY Paul!!!! My cable is a very normal Firewire 800….. :( :(
and I connect it on my Mac via Firewire port! Obviously without any Thunderbolt adapter…..I have both (FW and thunder) on my Mac, so I was wrong.
I'm not very knowledgeable in computers , you see ?
Thank you, ciao

Sorry to say, I only purpose for me to charge Mac Book Pro in car is to check email. The car charge to me is 300w power inverter. Simply connect it with car cigarette lighter charger outlet, then you can charge the tools that you wan to. The way for you to catch more information about this charger is to search bestekmall on Google. Hope this point is useful to you.
