Mamiya AFD 1 firmware?

Postby NNN635658637796507798 » Thu Apr 30, 2015 6:59 pm

Hoping someone can help! I've recently got an Aptus ii-5 for my AFD (version1). The back connects with the body and says ready to shoot. The body is frozen... will not fire, will not focus will not do anything. The body's lcd is functioning (shows shutter and aperture).

1) how do I check the firmware on the body?
2) how do I update/rollback the firmware? if need be
3) should it work with the afd?

Thanks for your help!

First edition of AFD does not have any firmware updates. (all after this did)
It was delivered "as is" so there is nothing that can be done. If you have verified that it is the body that is causing the issue, then contact a Mamiya-Leaf or a Phase One reseller to arrange service.

I had a phone conversation with Mamiya in Munich today. I wanted to know, whether you can use the ZD back on an AFD (yes you can, you don`t need an AFDII). They told me, an AFD ("AFD one") can not be updated. This can only become a problem with the new zoom lens 75-150. There might be aperture failures with an AFD and the new zoom (although it`s not sure you get these problems). He didn´t mention the new 28mm, so there seem to be no problems with the AFD and the 28mm.

As far as I understood only the AFDII can be updated.
