5d mark 2 raw files to dng

If you convert a 5D-2 raw file to a dng file, can v3.7.9 read it?

IIRC generic DNG support came with CO4. However still, if CO 3.7.9 can read DNG, you won't have the image quality due to missing 5D-2 film curves and profile. It does not live up to the camera's IQ, not worth the effort, while a perfect raw converter (CO4 or 5 that is) is available.

If CO4 or 5 were perfect I wouldn't be asking this question.

Drew, I have posted many complaints on the forum for v4 and 5. Stopped trying a while back and my 30 days trial is up. I don't qualify for free upgrade. Give me another 30 days to try it and I'll send you a detailed report if you like.

Drew, I think Bud1 is referring to this post:

Bud,
That seems a shame that you've stopped trying. I'm sure we could benefit from your experience but since you have never created a support case to give us a fair chance to investigate your issue, there is little we can do on your behalf. As this is a User to User forum I fully appreciate your views on the issues, however you may have been better served by creating a support case with Phase One.
If you would like to purchase the upgrade you are always welcome to do so. We will be happy to address any issue with proper examples through a support case.
Kind Regards,
Drew

Like I said Drew, give me another 30 days and I'll give you a detailed report. At this stage I'm not willing to pay for something that I'm not happy with.
I would gladly pay twice what your asking for v5 for an update for camera support for v3. I don't think I'm the only one here that feels this way.

Bud, create a new user account on your computer for testing purposes; it maybe helps.
