Vertical rotation with tethered capture

Postby Von1 » Mon Nov 01, 2004 4:46 pm

I love C1 Pro, but on jobs where tethered capture is needed, having to rotate manually my vertical captures is a pain. I either have to do it one at a time, or wait until I've shoot a lot, and rotate the whole group. My clients are all standing bent over side ways trying to see the images correctly, that needs to be corrected. The older version C1 Pro DSLR did not suffer this problem, only with the release of 3.5 did the problem start.

Hi Von,
What camera are you using? Are you shooting tethered?

I shoot with both Canon 1DS, and Phase One P25, and I shoot tethered on both.

I also have the same auto rotation problems while using a 1Ds. What C1 Pro procedures do I need to take to activate the rendering of vertical shots vertically on screen.

Tethered shooting in the current version of the software is really not supported, we are working to fix this though. For the 1Ds there is something that you can try, if you go to \"Application\" , open the C1 folder, highlight the C1 Pro launcher and then doing ctrl-click on the app. launcher. A window will pop open, pick \"get info\", open plug-ins and be sure that the \"Canon.camera\" and \"Camera.Setup.prefpane. Check them if they are not checked. Plug in the Canon and launch the application. In the preferences check the Camera Setup Preferences, try setting your camera orientation for \"Default for Camera\", then go to \"Thumbnails\", where it says Justification, next you'll see Horozontal and vertical each with a check box next to it. See if either one or both of these are checked. Try unchecking both of them. Shoot some images with both cameras and see what happens. I can't gruntee that the Canon will work tethered and you may have to go to an earlier version of the software to work with that.

As Von mentioned, this bug was introduced with v3.5+, and has not yet been addressed in the 3.5.1 and 3.5.2 updates.

C1 DSLR v 1.2.x does not have this problem. However, those of us who upgraded to v3.5 can no longer use previous versions as our licence codes for these editions have been disabled as part of the upgrade process.

I just received an email from Phase One saying that this problem has been fixed in version 3.6, to be released later in the month.
