Credo 60 firmware update to 2.03

I am a casual weekend user of the Credo 60 with firmware version 1.03. The DB was bought new from my local authorized dealer. Recently I tried to upgrade the firmware to version 2.03 the online instruction said that I need at least version 2.01 to do so. But I cannot find that version anywhere on Phase One website!!!! When I tried using the firmware update software, the message said "installation failed". Referred to my local agent who contacted Phase One (PO) and they wanted me to send it back to PO as they suspect its a hardware problem. I am advised that it will cost me approximately US$870!!! This DB is only 1.5 yr old with low usage and kept in dehumidifier and temperature controlled room (not just cabinet) when not used, I am genuinely surprised by the cost of "repair". I have no other problem with the DB besides the firmware updating installation problem. I thought the problem could be that my current firmware was earlier than the version 2.01 needed before version 2.03 can be installed but I cannot find version 2.01. If it is truly a hardware problem I must say I am disappointed by the reliability issue of the credo. My other cameras costing less than Credo are still working even after > 5 years without a hitch. Does anyone has the same problem updating the firmware? Please advice. Hoping to have a solution without sending it back for a costly update.

How did you update the firmware to version 2.03? From CF card, or through firewire or USB?

The release notes on the Leaf website (http://www.mamiyaleaf.com/firmware.html) mention the 2.01 requirement for firewire and USB updates only. Note that it also mentions to use the firmware update program version 3.2.3 when using this method. If this does apply to you, have you checked that as well?

thank you for your response. l've tried both CF card and FireWire and both gave the same "installation failed" message. After which I sent it in to my local dealer with the same outcome.

appreciate sny advice to resolve this without having to spend USD850 and 2 weeks of servicing time.

Try the 2.01 update first. Your dealer would be able get one, I assume.

Thanks Paul, I will try but not holding out much confidence. My local agent contacted PO and this was not suggested to them but to send it back to them. PO did not suggest trying version 2.01 !!! I shall check with my local agent to see if they have the earlier version 2.01 first before deciding on sending the DB back to PO.

No luck with installing firmware version 2.01, still the same installation failure notice.
Thanks for your advice nonetheless.

If anyone ut there has the same issue please let me know ir better still a solution that i can try instead of sending it back to PO.
