645DF+ Auto Extension Tubes

Postby NN109526UL2 » Sat Dec 07, 2013 9:00 am

How do I use the NA401, 402 and 403 tubes on my IQ180? The 401 gives me half black and half image frames. Do I need to stop down or use some other control. Am always in Manual Exposure and focus.

Hi

It is not about how you use extension tube with IQ180, this makes no difference.
But it depends on your lens.

The tubes have no connection for the LS shutter to work which means you are using Focalplane shutter.
If this is used in combo with flash, then there is a few things to think about.
This knowledge base article explains the things you need to know

Thanks. All of my lenses are LS lenses. I use the Lumedyne battery-powered flash system and the Speedotron Black studio flash system. How do I switch from LS to FP shutter, during an event or assignment, essentially locking the LS open and using the FP system only. If I slow down the FP shutter, to allow for the flash systems to sync, what is the preferred range? I can use 1/125 or slower with no issues. The aperture needs to be adjusted, to control that end of the image. Will the normal aperture control work with the LS locked open? If the tubes cut off information transmission between lens and body, how is that going to affect the lens short term? How do I return all controls to normal LS and exposure control after I remove the tubes? Can the tubes be stacked? Is there a bellows available for the 645DF+ / LS system?
