Where does MP store hierarchical keywords?

Postby Ian3 » Sat Sep 08, 2018 9:34 am

Where does MP store its hierarchical keywords? Is there a built-in way of exporting them as a txt file or some such? Or is there a location where MP stores such a file? (Using a mac.)

The simple answer ist no. The only way I know is bind all your hierarchical keywords to one image and write annotations.
Than you have all in a one XMP file.

The simple answer is yes.

This is from memory but under the "Make" menu should be "Text Data file...". You can then select the annotation fields you want, including catalogue sets. Then you select the file type - tab or comma delimited - and the file name to send the data to.

This has been available since the early versions of iView Media pro, and Microsoft and PhaseOne haven't broken it!

Thanks. Now away from home for a few days. I'll look at that when I get back.

I found an entry in the release notes for 11.3 that might be interesting:

"Fixed an issue when importing Media Pro catalogs resulted in flattened hierarchical keywords"

Found the release announcement page (no easy task - why isn't that on the front page of your site Phase One) https://www.phaseone.com/en/Capture-One ... lease.aspx follow the release notes and read the 11.3 bug fixes page (pp7).
