Do I have to pay yet more money if I want to upgrade or should I qualify for a free upgrade?

Unfortunately, you bought your license before the grace period started (from 1 Nov.).

Well, I won't be upgrading any more at these prices and particulary as C1 will now no longer support v11 even though I only bought it six weeks ago. So if there are faults I'll be expected to pay more (i.e. upgrade) to have them fixed - if P1 even bother.

I'll stick with v11 until a camera change forces me to move on then I'll switch to another package. (And I don't see why we should have to pay for new camera support in any case - it should be available free for at least recent releases).

Luckily, because I could see this coming given P1's track record on treating us loyal customers as cash cows, I insulated myself from the C1 catalogue by switching to sessions and using a seperate DAM (IMatch - much better than the C1 DAM). I'll now start taking steps to future proof my edits as well.

It seems to me that the Fuji film simulations cannot be applied to my pictures shot with an X-E1/X-Pro1? That would be a shame. Or is there a workaround?

Not sure but when I import in C11 the importer automatically makes a new folder with the automatic naming determined in the Import to box on the Import images dialog!?

I purchased capture one on 17/11/18 but I cannot see an option to upgrade to 12 without paying full price? what am I missing?
Thanks

Just install Capture One 12 and activate with your key. It should be a CO12 key already without you knowing it (Capture One license keys work for all lower versions as well).

NO NO NO!
I am using a display-resolution of 1920x1080 - and the new Fonts are way to big. The new "improved" user interface looks terrible to me (maybe because of the larger fonts).
No longer like the UI of some high-end software, it simply looks cheap.

No i am no longer able to show all the options from my tools directly, i have to click around much more to open the different tools in the actual tool tab.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make the font size switchable/changeable or revert to the smaller fonts of the 11 Version.

Currently i am not shure if i did upgrade to fast. Maybe i wasted a lot of money to get less usability than before. :(

I haven't bought the update yet and am thinking I probably won't. I could use the larger font on my 4K monitor, but I don't want a lighter background. Applications are supposed to respond to the font size setting in Windows Settings/System/Display but many obviously don't, I guess it's a lot of work to make this happen in old code that wasn't written that way at the start. So it sounds like P1 addressed the 4K problem by just plugging in a larger font everywhere, without making it configurable.

On windows you can change the background color in 5-6 steps I believe!
I have 4k monitor and it's now better to read.

Anyhow, I read in Nikonians forum that there should be a free update for V11 users coming next week!

I'm a long time user. Upgraded to V11 2 months ago and I have to pay full upgrade $149 again for V12 NO DEAL! Customer service is the first to go when companies are failing. I can only deduce this is the case time to research alternatives.

So you waited 10 months after V11 was released before upgrading?

No problem. I skipped V10 completely.

But then as a long time user you would probably have worked out by now that the release pattern for new versions had settled into an annual period based around the end of November and beginning of December. And you would have known that Phase usually operate a 'grace' period of 30 days. So anyone buying or upgrading during November could probably expect to get the next release included.

Can I ask what prompted you to jump in for a late-in-the-cycle upgrade 2 months ago?

Do you really NEED V12? After all you did not exactly rush into V11. Why not skip it for now, as you did with V11. It's not a compulsory upgrade for a Windows user. You could probably skip V12 completely if you don't ever think it offers anything you need.

The final two sentences of your brief comment seem to be completely unconnected with anything you wrote previously and have no relevance at all. One wonders what really motivated you to make the post.

The thing is, Phase One PUNISHES users who don’t upgrade every year by setting a higher upgrade price for them. So, basically, when you skip a version, you don’t get the benefit of current features PLUS you are forced to pay for those feature when you eventually upgrade. Skipping a version is NOT without harm.

Dishonest at best.

I won’t ever again upgrade unless this practice of milking customers is abandoned. $150 to go from v11 to v12 is absolute robbery. More than the $120 Adobe subscription to upgrade a product that still needs Photoshop to become a complete editing suite.

I will just use Capture One 11 for what it does best, basic raw development, until I manage to create and save some similar defaults in Lightroom. I got a bit lazy, I must admit. Then, it will be bye, bye!
