Update folder contents

Postby NN263512UL » Sun Jun 16, 2019 6:51 pm

Hello,
in the CO 12 catalog I have a folder "New Photos".
Now I add some images manually via Mac Finder.
How can I now see these photos in the folder "New Photos" of the CO 12 catalog?
- Capture One does not update the folder automatically !?
- or how can I sync / update the folder !?

regards Wolfgang

Right click the folder and choose synchronise?

Or use the Import function.

There is no sync menu command in the context.menu (right click)!
But this would be the best and the simplest way....

Importing images seems to be complicated. If I add 10 images to a folder of 100 images (via Mac Finder) and would use the import command in CO12, I have to find and choose the 10 images in the folder of 100 images! OK, I use the import command, BUT, when trying to import, It is said: “source folder and destination folder may not be the same.”
It has to be possible to easily make photos visible added to a folder?

You should be able to navigate to your folder in the Folders section of the Library tool, right click it and one of the items on the context menu says Synchronise.

You can use filter(s) for the import selection. Date for example although I do appreciate that such an approach may not work if you are adding random images from a back catalogue.

However I was more thinking that you would use Import to put the files onto the folder using Capture One rather than by using Finder. That would also avoid the message and allow you to use file naming in import should that be a benefit for your workflow. (Also some image processing and other changes using styles and presets if they are useful to you.)

Sorry, there is NO synchronise command!
NOTE: in my first post I mentioned, that I use the Fujifilm Express version. Are you sure, that this version supports synchronizing?

Updating a folder (synchronize) is a Pro feature, consequently likely not in the free Express versions. See https://help.phaseone.com/en/CO12/Organizing-Photos/Working-with-Catalogs/Organizing-images

So the remaining way to add images is to import (perhaps check "Exclude Duplicates") and then "Import All".

Hard for me to say as I do not have one of the express versions.
