CO and DJI Mavic 2 Pro DNG

Postby Dana21 » Tue Oct 09, 2018 9:12 pm

These files don't show up in CO so I'm guessing no support yet because it's still pretty new. My old Mavic Pro had CO support so I'm checking to see if Phase One has plans to support the new Mavic Pro 2. FYI, the DNG files when opened in Photoshop show up as Hasselblad LD1-20c so that has me worried that Phase won't be supporting it because they are Hasselblad files.

So I've been trying to work with this..

Here's what I've found.

If you open the .dng files in an Exif editor and remove the word Hasselblad, the files will then open in Capture One.

The problem is that they look horrible, as there is no correction information available.. Next to the JPG's they're useless. The colour smearing and distortion is kinda unusable.. So i've been working with the JPG files. However, as they're JPG files, there's only so much you can do with them, and you definitely can't print them big after a few adjustments.

HOWEVER I've had an idea which might be a good work around.

Could one not just take an LCC plate like when using a tech camera, and save that as the default lens correction? I have a feeling this might get us back to where we need to be when using the .dng files.. Going to try today, will report back.

actually the lens profile doesn't seem to be quite right, seems quite uneven compared to the jpgs out of camera..?

Hi

It is not on any list as "supported" but since it is DNG 1.4, they now work.
There is no lens profile for it (see supported lens list in release note)
