Change wrong year to right year on images

Postby Sensel » Mon May 01, 2017 8:32 pm

I have no idea why but, my Nikon had the wrong YEAR on a recent trip I took. I changed it to 2017 halfway but, the first week of images are showing as 2016.
Is there any way to change the year in COP 9.1 for these images?

No - you'll need to use some kind of Exif editing app. C1 doesn't do it.

PO needs to add this pretty obvious feature to CO…

Except that their approach is NEVER to alter the raw file.

We don't ask to alter the raw file. We ask them to register that file with a different date. In the database or xmp file, not in the raw. That's how other vendors do it. That's how they store ratings, descriptions, etc.

It's such a basic thing, and everybody runs into this. Travel abroad, change DST, collect pics from different camera's. Stupid little things that are easy to run into.

Cheers,
Peter.

Sounds like a possible feature request you could make. I do agree that it's an issue will have probably all run into - I certainly have!

It is something that could be historically or commercially catastrophic. A day of shooting, lost to a wrong date. Years later, long forgotten, a search of 2017 comes up empty. Oh well, we must have lost that image a client needs (or, whatever).
This is no different then adjusting a bad exposure or other visual aspect of an image. Instead, it is fixing an incorrect date.
At the same time, Nikon, Canon, Sony, et al need to actually let us fix a bad date (especially the wrong YEAR) in camera too. Oh, those 400 images I took need to be 2017 not 2016, select, change, confirm, done.
