Local Adjustment mask too slow

Postby NNN636061559328381581 » Fri Feb 10, 2017 10:30 am

Hi
I want to share my experience in respect of masking in local adjustment and how slow it is.

My hardware is Mac Pro 5.1, 2x 3.46Gh 12 core machine with 48GB RAM and Nvidia GeForce 980 4GB Graphic card
Six months ago I change my display from 23"apple cinema display to 30" and since than when I use mask in local adjustment, the cursor drags and it is too slow to a extend that it takes 30 plus seconds and in some case over a minute. at the time I had Radeon HD 5770 1gb and I was advice to up the GPU memory. I purchase GTX 980 and the issue is still there. I try to disable Hardware acceleration display and processing from auto to never and vice a verse and no success. I set the preview image size between 1440 and 2048 and the issue still exist.
Any advice please.

Looking online, I see that the optimum resolution for the Apple Cinema 30 inch display is 2560 x 1600. My iMac display is 2560 x 1440 and my preview size in Capture One is set to 2560. I'd suggest that you ought to have a preview size to match your display so 2560 would be appropriate for you too. (If it's too small, C1 will be forever re-rendering the preview which will slow things down.) If changing that doesn't work, I'd raise a support case.

Hi Ian

I change the screen resolution to 2560 and the issue still exist. I also noticed that when i am using C1,the memory usage is very low. I have 48GB RAM and the C1 nearly use less than 5% when running local adjustments. Nor sure this has an impact on the issue.
