If you mean lenses designed for the Mamiya 645DF/DF+ camera, the answer is yes, you can use them on the XF camera.

I believe this lens is designed for the much older 645 camera and is not compatible with the XF. And even if it would fit you could ask yourself what beneft it would bring in terms of optical quality.

It will almost surely require physical modification.

My XF just arrived, so I can confirm, that all those lenses will not mount there (all of them worked perfectly od DF+):

Sekor C 24mm/f4 ULD FishEye
Sekor C 35mm/f3.5
Sekor C 45mm/f2.8
Sekor C 50mm/f4 MF Shift
Sekor C 55mm/f2.8
Sekor C 55-110mm/f4.5
Sekor C 65-130mm/f4.5
Sekor C 70mm/f2.8 LS
Sekor C 80mm/f1.9 MF
Sekor C 80mm/f4 Macro
Sekor C 105-210mm/f4.5 ULD
Sekor C 110mm/f2.8
Mamiya A 120mm/f4 Macro
Sekor C 145mm/f4 MF SoftFocus
Mamiya A 150mm/f2.8
Mamiya A 200mm/f2.8 APO
Sekor C 210mm/f4 N
Mamiya A 300mm/f2.8 APO
Sekor C 300mm/f5.6 N ULD
Sekor C 500mm/f5.6
Sekor C 500mm/f8 Reflex

Actually I find in my collection only two lenses designed for M645 which can be mounted:

Hartblei 45mm/f3.5 Super Rotator
Hartblei 45mm/f3.5 PCS

XF technical specification listed "support of 60+ legacy lenses" and I was stupid enough to order my XF before I checked for this issue on web.

Dear Phase One: That's a shame and needed solution is to modify XF body, not old lenses!

Did you ever find an answer to mount these older Mamiya lenses on an XF?

I was especially interested in the 200 and 300mm telephoto ones.

Hi
The 200 and 300mm should be fine.
Older Mamiya C lenses, please see this knowledge base

No. They are not fine - also for Mamiya A lenses is needed same modification as for Sekor C lenses.

..it of course depends on which one....

A 300mm 4.5 APO IF AF works fine for example.

I should have been more precise, my apology.

There are others which do require modification.

Oops, I was confused by "200 and 300mm should be fine" what for me indicated old M645 lenses. AF lenses in this range were 210 and 300mm.

Yes - 300/4.5 AF can be used and delivers somehow usable image quality. Old manual 300/2.8 APO is of course still much better.
And way too heavy. :-D

Be interested to know how much better the 300/2.8 is over the 300/4.5 in your opinion? The results I've seen online show little in it at f8 for example. f4.5 I'd imagine is different, but wafer thin d-o-f. Both are claimed as 'APO'.

The MF 300mm f2.8 need adapting to work on an XF, I take it? And gym membership.

thanks.

I just modified the Sekor C 50mm/f4 MF Shift & Sekor C 110mm/f2.8 to work on my XF.

With the Sekor C 110mm/f2.8 I just removed the inner black ring that has the part that blocks mounting the lens. Works great. AND it is just as sharp as my blue ring 80mm 2.8 at f8 - f11. I was very impressed with this lens. I was shooting to a IQ380.

The Sekor C 50mm/f4 MF Shift you have to remove the ring that attaches to the body and shave about half of the lip that protrudes towards the body off. Just follow the guideline on the DT fourum and it will work. Did for me.

At least with these 2 lenses, there is absolutely no need to modify the XF body.
