i read it works with all IQ series, but what about leaf backs?

does it works with the APtus ii? specifically with aptus ii 8?

i guess the credo will work and i don't see why the aptus wouldnt if the mount is the same unless phase one wants to stop them from working..

Support currently is for IQ1, IQ2 and IQ3

Non IQ are not supported. The older interface logic is simply incompatible.

Dealers will be supporting customers (who want to use the XF platform) with solutions via trade-up programs

Leaf Credo will have the same level of compatibility as IQ1 - once the firmware is updated (in the near future).

ok hang on. So let me understand this. The XF body will not support Leaf Aptus, or my P65+ back but the IQ3 will work on H mount, V mount. Glad to see Phase is supporting other legacy products from it's competing companies but ignoring its own user base. They could at least allow the XF to communicate with the P series on a basic level. We've been waiting for a body that will actually autofocus reliably and are now shut out completely. This makes no sense to me. Future Proof?

This is more about what is and isn't possible within reasonable means.
XF supports: IQ3, IQ2, IQ1 and will also support Leaf Credo later.
What is new is IQ3 which supports XF, DF+ and DF.

So the body supports 3 generations and also the latest back supports 3 generations body.
Of course it would be great if anything supported everything.
However at some point it simply becomes to complicated with all its combinations.

For those of us who may have made a once in a lifetime purchase, in my case $36,000.00 for a P45+ eight years ago and have since waited patiently for a new body, Phase One has left us adrift. I also understand even the DF+ is or soon will be discontinued. At age 76 on a retirement income it is not likely that I will ever be able to purchase an IQ back so I must wonder if my P45+ will soon become (when my current body fails) a relic destined for the trash heap?

It has been a month since the statement was made that the XF camera would be compatible, via firmware update, at a future date, with the Leaf Credo backs.

I'm just wondering if there's at least a general time frame as to when the Credo firmware would be released? Will it at least be in 2015?

Given the highly touted multi-year development cycle of the XF system and the fact that PhaseOne owns both companies involved in the process it's very disconcerting the best info available on compatibility is "eventually".

I can guarantee you so far that a compatible Credo firmware will be during 2015.
This I am doing without sticking my neck out to far.

It has been three and a half months since the last post stating the Leaf Credo compatibility would definitely happen in 2015.

The announcement yesterday/today regarding the first major XF firmware update did not contain any reference to Leaf Credo comparability. That's nearly five months since the camera was released with no update from PhaseOne.

There are only about 70 days remaining in 2015 and I'm wondering how confident Ulf is now about the "in 2015" statement.

Surely a company as well established as PhaseOne has a release plan of features and firmware updates that covers that period and would consider dropping a clue to their customer base?

Or maybe the paranoid conspiracy theory that this is all a well planned strategy on the part of PhaseOne to marginalize Mamiya (No Mamiya branded XF camera) and relegate the Leaf backs to second class status (encourage transition to PhaseOne backs) has some merit.

Or maybe I just need to put down the bottle and stagger off to bed!

Apparently the 'guarantee" of a Credo firmware update by the end of 2015 was a bridge too far as there's still no news on the Credo 50 compatability front.

But, on the up side, there's a nice new 100MP digital back available! :-)

Taking my tongue out of my check, however, in all seriousness is it too much to ask PhaseOne to provide some type of an update on the status of the Leaf Credo firmware update? We were told the Credo backs would be compatible "soon" via a firmware update when the XF camera was released. And that is the last info that has been provided by the company which is an unacceptable strategic messaging policy from where I'm sitting.

I was obviously sticking out my neck to far. My head is chopped off.
It will happen, but it has yet to happen.

Is there any further information about the timing for compatibility of the Leaf Credo backs with the Phase One XF camera? It is now 7 months since the XF was announced.
Can we get some rough idea as to when this update will happen?
