Camera back not seen by MacBook

Postby Nettyweb » Sat Dec 05, 2015 9:22 pm

Hi all

I am new to Phase one and to the H20 back on a Hasselblad 500cm that my father has recently purchased for me to use.

I have loaded the Capture one v 7.2.4 onto my MacBook (v 8 will not work on my MacBook)
It's an older MacBook (mid 2007. Running Lion OS X 10.7.5) not new one, but this version of capture one seems to run ok.
I have the green lights on at back of the H20 back, via FireWire.

Problem is I can't get the MacBook to recognise the camera or back & the software says no camera attached.

I know it's probably something basic, but I've been trying to get it to work all afternoon!
Any helpful tips, pointers and ideas would be really appreciated.

Thank you so much

Can you check that digital back is visible at devices list on your mac in system report. At fireware section. Keep in mind you need dedicated POWERED FIREWARE card, as build in port of MAC book provides not enough juice to power your back.

HI
Thanks for the info.
I've checked the system info, and the camera back is not seen by the Mac, but the camera back lights are both on solid green.
Any ideas? The Mac is an early 2007 model.
Thanks for your help
Hope you had a good Christmas :)

A laptop does not provide enough power to run a H20.

Hello again all!

I have a 'new' second hand macbook pro, 2011 model, with latest OSX & C1 v9
I have also purchased the Lindy firewire repeater -http://www.lindy.co.uk/usb-firewire-c4/3-port-firewire-800-repeater-hub-p945

The thing is that my computer still can't see the camera!
What am I doing wrong? What should I be doing???
I have installed the leaf drivers, rebooted my Mac, selected the Hasselblad 500 series in the list.
Plugged camera in then started C1v9 & also tried starting C1v9 then plugging in the camera.
Checked the cable on the camera from flash sync to C on back.
All lights are green on the back.

Any help really appreciated!

Thanks from Annette
