hello...
is there any way to shoot into leaf capture with a phase one iq180?
or is there a way to change the capture one work space so it appears more like leaf capture?

Hi

Leaf Capture is only compatible with a limited number of Leaf backs.
You can move pallets and re-arrange in any way you want and remove and add tabs as well.
Once done you can save your workspace by going to Windows ->Workspace

thanks Ulf,
is the processing not different between capture one & leaf capture? i.e if we are used to working on files from Leaf Capture and we are going to use phase one backs will we notice a difference between the files?
what is the difference between a MOS file and a RAW file?

Hi

Yes there is differences since the image core is different.
In general Capture One produce better results due to more sophisticated image core and numerous more options.

If you are referring to a Phase One back vs. a Leaf back then yes they do have some differences in their character of this file. Much like different films. However with the adjustment possibilities in Capture One you can give files any character you want.

Leaf Capture is a product that is currently being maintained but not developed.
The way forward is Capture One which we are putting great amount of resources in to.

Hi Ulf
thanks...
so if we are comparing the Leaf Aptus II 12 MOS file to the IQ180 file, what differences will we see, prior to any capture one or leaf capture adjustments?
Is there any in camera sharpening that goes on in the phase back that doesn't happen in the Leaf?

Hi
There is no in-camera processing in any of the backs, both produce RAW files (MOS on Leaf and IIQ on Phase One)
There is slight differences in characteristics but over all they are similar since they both use the same chip.
There seem to be plenty different shoot outs that has been happening for you to form your own opinion on what you prefer. If not, then contact a dealer and they can assist you in your choice.

On a feature and build level there is of course a huge difference between the two backs which is also reflected in pricing.
