VALEO 22 IR FILTER

Hi everybody,

I just got a old Valeo 22. After i try to attach it on my 645 AFD i notice it wont fit solid rock, so i tried to check around and open it to fix the mount.... Result: i scratched the IR filter and un-straighten the sensor.

I now sent it in a repair shop but as i live in Taiwan there is not Mamiya Leaf center, and the back is also old. The repair center seems can recalibrate the sensor but not sure about the IR filter. Is it strictly necessary? if so is still available on market ( ex Aptus one will fit? )

All the help will be more then welcome

Lorenzo

Lorenzo,

Your local Mamiya Leaf dealer, J-Don can order a new IR filter for your Valeo, you can find their contact details here: http://www.mamiyaleaf.com/partners_asia.html

Great news for me, the local shop fix the mount and can find me a IR glass ( 534 USD  )

My last problem is how align again the sensor back as it was before i open it, which look not perfectly on the same plane. As there is not Leaf or Mamiya assistance here, i will need to do that by self.
It is controlled by 3 screw, which i guess must be on the right spot.

Any suggestion on the best procedure to do it?

Thanks a lot for all the support

Hi

This can not be done without a special rig. It can be done in Tel aviv, Copenhagen and New York.
It has to be arranged but a local Mamiya-Leaf dealer.

It looks like i did it by self.

Opened up the back and then attached to my I mac. While the back was on i just aligned it while shooting a target. To do so there are 3 screw that need to be registered. It may bot be "certificated" but now is kind of sharp. :)

Thanks for support anyhow!

Well I can only say that we strongly recommend against this due to the damaged an untrained person can do to the back.
Also the process is done under microscope to ensure preciseness which can not be accomplished out side specialised environment.

Thanks so much for the reply.
Even if now all seem clear i did book the Mamiya official dealer for tomorrow anyhow.

I feel more sure to give the whole package in their hands and have it send to the factory for real test.

I guess is the best solution.

Hope they will take my AFD and the old Valeo, even of they are old products. The Valeo, if well lit delivery amazing pictures and the 80 mm seems also a great lens.
