Why is the Leaf shutter limited to 1 second exposure on DF+

the title says it all except (I mean 645DF+). I do mostly portraits but wanted to do some long exposure photography. I currently only have a leaf shutter that is limited to 1 second exposure. Why is that?. I did try and google before I posted.

thanks

Anything over 1 Second simply uses the Focal Plane Shutter.
Change your settings to allow for "mixed" shutter usage and you have shutter speeds up to 1 hour as well as Bulb and Time via the FP Shutter.
