Using battery w/P1 645DF with V-Grip

Postby CHESTERJOHNPHOTO » Sat Jun 22, 2013 2:49 am

Hey guys,

I am looking to purchase the V-grip, but noticed that it uses different batteries.

I am currently using the Ejji Battery.

Does this mean that i will no longer need to use them if i purchase the v-grip?

thanks

The V-Grip would act as a replacement for your Ejji.

Thank you!

Another question, with the V grip setup and a Profoto AcuteB2 Air s kit i should be able to sync @ 1/1600?

At the moment i can only sync to 1/800, with a p30+ digital back, Elinchrom Skyport Speed trigger, Elinchrom Skyport Speed receiver sync cabled to an Elinchrom RX Ranger with an S Head.

It's showing LS @ 1/800 and then beyond that it switches to FS and doesnt sync at all. Have tried leaving it on LS only and it still wont go beyond 1/800.

With an updated firmware on the p30+ and also the df body will that help me sync to 1/1600?
Also, is there a Firewire adapter to USB as my PC does not have a firewire port, i cant update the firmware on my p30+.

thanks
Chester

The P30+ does not have 'Extended Shutter' support. This means it lacks the hardware interface to communicate with the body at the high speeds necessary for the 1/1600th sync. At present only second generation P+ units and IQ units can sync at this speed (P40+ and P65+ backs are 2nd gen).
