Normally you would remount the lens and reset the body... however if that doesn't do it then its probably a mechanical failure of the shutter mechanism.

My 80mm just locked up too. 800 dollar repair to replace the whole leaf shutter. The leaf shutter just won't open. I have less than 1000 clicks on this shutter. Seems like a common problem all over the internet too. Its dishonorable that Schneider hides behind the 1 year warranty and 100,000 clicks pointing at the 1 year warranty. Yeah that is the contract but not in the spirit of good business. If your product purportably will last up to 100,000 clicks and fails at 1000 after 13 months that is bogus. Imagine if a chevy croaked at 15,000 miles. The truck would be recalled regardless of the amount of time.

And if that is the case I'm sure we gave it special attention. I'd be happy to dispel any mystery with this lens but I couldn't find any registered to your account. If you'd like some more feedback specific to this Repair I'd be happy to help through a support case.

Great Thanks Drew - I bought this lens new from Digital Transitions with a p65+ system 20 months ago. Serial Number
serial number pk003086. Lens has roughly 1500 photos taken with it give or take. The bottom line is if GM or Chrysler made a car that gave you an expectation that it could go up to 100,000 miles and they were consistently failing around 2-4k miles no matter how months or years later no one would be buying GM or Chrysler cars anymore. PM if you want more personal info. Thanks

I looked up your serial, and I see the repair request was made just 2 days ago and is an ongoing case. It should be noted the quote given was simply based on an out of warranty lens requiring a new shutter. If the number of captures you mention is correct then there should be no question that exceptions must be made as this is not even remotely close to a realistic failure point.

Your dealer will be in contact with our plan to make sure you are well taken care of.

Thanks Jon - all true - I appreciate that. For whats its worth as well all my experiences with Phase one and Digital Transitions have been excellent from the actual product, to the sales experience, to issues during the warranty period, until this point with this lens. And you are exactly right Jon I didn't explain the whole situation to Digital transitions when I first contacted them about the issue 2 days ago and it sounds like right now this will be remedied. Thanks for your consideration and time.
