Backpack for 645DF

Postby travelboy » Fri Jan 11, 2013 1:33 am

Can anyone recommend a camera backpack to use with the 645DF and a few lenses? It seems that none of the typical backbacks fit because either the camera is too high or the backpack is optimized for T-shaped cameras (DSLR without digital back) while the 645DF with back has the shape of a + sign.

Anyone use a backpack? It needs to protect against shock and rain and should be easy to operate (i.e. I don't want to open 3 zippers to take something out).

The Kata Bumblebee 220 works brilliantly for my 645DF with 4 lenses, Lee filters etc.

when I travel light I use a small Lowepro backpack, the 'CompuDaypack'.

The DF and 80mmLS or 80mmD go downstairs in the bottom, snug fit, just right.
In the top I can get 3 lenses in pouches, a load of CF cards, dust blower, electronic cable release, spare batteries for both and a few filters.

If I want to take a lot of the kit I use a rolling case that is max carry-on size for most flights, plus the backpack, during the flight the backpack carries laptop, chargers etc or non valuable stuff that wouldn't fit into a case going in the hold.

I can then pick and choose what goes in the day pack on a daily basis..

Hope this helps,

When not using a hard-case I use the thinkTank Airport Accelerator: ... rator.aspx
