Rechargeable Lithium Ion CR123 batteries are about to be launched on the UK market. Beware that a few inferior products from China are already here. It is worth waiting for the big names to launch their products before making the jump. I tried a selection of batteries and found major problems. Some batteries were 5mm short and rattled around while others were 3.6 volts instead of 3v. So beware. Uniross are likely to be the first respectable UK firm to put their name on the new cells this summer. It's worth the wait.

I still haven't worked out how to cut and pase images into threads. If you are interested heres a 20k pic of the type of battery to avoid.

When you post a reply you will see at the top of the box that you type into the following bottoms: B, i, U, Quote.... Img, URL.

B = Bold.
i = Italic.
Img = Image.
etc, etc.

To find the image URL:
First, find the image on the web, then open up a New Window / page and drag the image onto that window / page.
The new window /page should now just show that image.
In the Address bar, you now have the URL / http for that image.
Copy the URL and after clicking on the Img bottom Paste it into the box provided.

Click Preview to see if it worked before submitting.

Look forward to seeing images soon.

Cheers

i am still awaiting the release of that new 9.6 volt rechargeable grip. there seems to be some confusion from my dealer if the 9.6 replaces the 7.2, or what.

other than having to carry around yet another battery charger, would you guys rather use a rechargable grip over the simple batteries?

i just got word that the rechargeable 9.6 volt H1 battery grip is now discontinued. Replacing it is the 7.2 volt model. B&H has the 7.2 grip and charger in stock.

I get a full couple of days shooting from a set of lithium CR123 batteries (1000 frames plus). These cost £3.57 for a set of 3. Not a big expense but I think they are more convenient than the unnesessarily expensive Hassy rechargable system.
