P 25 Back Tethered to External hardrive other than PC or Mac

Postby ian daniel » Fri Jan 28, 2005 8:03 pm

Is this possible? Can you tether the p25 back to an external hardrive other than PC or Mac. I like the portability of the P25 but memory cards fill up so quickly and get quite exspensive. Is there technology out there that allows you to tether to a memory bank of sorts. You would still be portable with out much if any trouble of cords in your way. Most of all have a lot more storage space.

thanks

We carry 4 x 1Gb cards and use the Nikon Cool Walker 30Gb, to download the cards to.
It works a treat and can be attached to your belt. No cables and it automatically turns itself off after all the images have been transfered so you don't have to keep an eye on it or worry about turning it off to save the battery. Just pop in the card, turn it on and press the big bottom in the middle - and it does the rest.

Info on it:

No preview images unless you are using one of the 35mm systems, but you can see the files.
Every time you put a card in it automatically creates a new folder and puts the caputre files into it.
Been using it since September and so far it been 100% fault free.
Very, very simple to use - no fancy tricks.

2Gb CF cards 80x from Lexar are just £125. That's cheap as chips (excuse the pun).
