P20 tethered \"through\" an external hard drive?

Postby PSS » Sun Jan 15, 2006 3:10 am

is is possible to shoot a P20 tethered plugged into an external HD which in is plugged into a powerbook (apple G4)? would it matter if the HD is buspowered or not? would this setup be faster (in terms of capture speed) of course depending on the speed of the HD...

Hi,

I regularly use a firewire powered external (60Gig) HD to shoot P25 files, and quite honestly have noticed no difference in speed at all. It has another advantage, in that when I get home, I plug the external HD straight into my desktop computer, choose the session, and can carry on from there without using other copying methods at all.
Hope this helps, Andrew
