P25 settings with latest firmware

Postby damienlovegrove » Wed Jul 20, 2005 10:42 pm

Having installed the latest firmware on my P25 last week I decided to check out the new options. Having played about with thenew screen brightness, I have gone with the middle option 'bright'. I have also opted to have the backlight and playback switch off after 30 seconds but the back to stay on at the ready for 30 mins before the auto shutdown kicks in. With these settings my battery usage at last weekends wedding was 2 and a bit batteries instead of the 4 that I usually use. How cool is that. I shot on and off for 12 hours and filled 5 x 2gb Lexar CF cards.

Any other firmware findings?

new firmware?

Postby Daniel1111 » Thu Jul 21, 2005 2:09 am

Is there new firmware posted somewhere? The latest version I see under the downloads tab is 3.1. You must have a special connection with Phase One. I'd love to be able to adjust the brightness of my P25 display. Hope to see it soon.

By the way Damien, I appreciate your active and thorough contributions to this forum.

Yes and No - there was a new firmware posted - version 3.3.4 but we found a battery issue in this version and decided to pull it off until this issue have been solved.

There are only a limited number of backs that actually are getting the error but anyway we would not risk our customers could not work with their P-backs  A new firmware will be available very soon.

I must be lucky. My batteries last longer than ever, my screen is bright and there is the promise of 4gb compatability within the next week.

Thanks for the kind words,

Damien.

New firmware - still version 3.3.4 is out now. The power \"think\" is solved.

Damien - i will suggest that you upgrade your firmware too.

Is 3.34v49 the new updated, proper version; the one with the power fix?
And even if we ran the last firmware upgrade, a week or so ago, we should rerun this new 334 upgrade again?

I've re downloaded and run the upgrade. It's a very satisfying feeling watching the back talking with the computer. It's the little things in life that amaze me. All still works fine.

Yes - the 3.34v49 is the newest and yes please upgrade it again. The main version number (3.3.4) haven't changed but the PAVR code have changed (a part of the firmware).
