Mamiya 645 and lenses

Hi,

does anyone have issues with the camera body "loosing" contact with the lense and over exposing occasionally?

any fixes for this?

Can you provide specifics?
Mamiya has more than 5 645 cameras. Also, which lenses?

The body is a Mamiya 645 AFD II and the lenses that I have all have this issue at some point these are all AF Mamiya lenses 35mm, 80mm and 150mm.

Hmmm... I would suggest you contact your closest Mamiya repair facility and get the body in for a checkup.

Yes... happens occasionally. Use dry cleaning to help (or DeOxit.. careful!), but the contacts are strong enough that it should not happen. Never happened with my AFD and now happens once in awhile with my AFDII. One lens worked fine on the AFD and would not work on the AFDII... had to send the lens in for a new CPU board. Newer bodies may be more fickle? I may send in the AFDII because I don't think it is focusing correctly... just jumped to a P40+ back and has me rethinking how I execute focus. Still in research on that...

I ma having the same problem but only with 35mm lens. the other lenses i have ( 55, 80, 105-210) are working fine. were you able to get any solution?

A bit off the OP's original question... will the newer Phase One lenses work on a 645 AFDIII (Leaf Aptus II-7 back)? Autofocus isn't important to me since I usually use manual regardless....but the new 110mm 2.8 and 55mm 2.8 sound sweet.

Only the focal plane shutter lenses will work.. the Schneider LEaf Shutter lenses will not. So sorry no 110mm or 55mm.

Schneider LS will only work on DF and DF+ camera bodies.

it seems these bridge cameras can have battery life issues and in the reviews that gave ... I had an S5000 and did not like the shutter lag it had, has anyone experienced .... She has a Minolta film slr but never really changes lenses etc so it is a bit of a waste. ...

I have Phase One AF body - will Schneider 80mm LS work on it? Will I be able to use it in manual focus or is it completely incompatibile?

A Phase One AF is the same as a Mamiya AFDIII and it does not support LS lenses.
Only AF and D lenses are supported with that (Lenses without a shutter)
