I upgraded my video card to a GT 640 as per the list to take advantage of "open CL". Changed the preference to auto.
No difference, still takes 10 seconds of a spinning wheel to present a focused image.
Using Raw from a Canon 7D
Any suggestions ??
Thanks

Unfortunately there are many more factors that would go into performance.
If you could provide some specifics about your machine and workflow there may be some adjustments that can be made to speed things up.

Hi
I'm running win 7 64 bit and c1 64 bit. 12gb ram. amd x4 925. standard hard disk.

I did a test with a new batch of raw files (approx 22mb each) and after the index and proxies were done the focusing viewer wheel spins for only two - three seconds now when I bring up an image which is a big improvement.

I've read the minimum requirements and the recommendations. I have a quad core processor, listed video card for open CL, plenty of ram and hard disk space. I will do a registry cleanup and purchase an SSD as my last hope. Its all a bit annoying as the capture one express worked fine. The upgrade in software to pro version 6 comes with significant hardware demands !

I imagine version 7 is more demanding so I won't go near it until a new computer is purchased some time away .....

Cheers
